  • First ever MPSN Q&A Breakfast panel impresses

    6 May, 2011

MPSN Q&A BreakfastIn the early hours of this morning a group of Macarthur region based professionals were invited to participate in the first ever Macarthur Professional Services Network (MPSN) Q&A Breakfast panel. Coffee was certainly a welcome sight for some (or Red Bull in at least one case), as well as the tasty breakfast served up at the Campbelltown Catholic Club. It was not too early, though, to introduce some attendees to the world of Twitter, with a sizable number of new Twitter accounts being setup over breakfast via smart phones (forgotten passwords be damned!).

Proceedings were soon underway, with the introduction of the Twitter wall along with our panel of Mark Scarce (Camden Hire), Richard Drinnan (KPMG), David Cadden (Macarthur Credit Union), Tony Galea (St John's Anglican Church, Camden).

    Constraints drive innovation.
    -Mark Kofahl

Although primarily from a business owners focus, all in attendance had some great food for thought on the art of being involved with a successful business (or organisation, cheers Tony!). Topics discussed included the importance of humility in business, maintaining your company culture, people before profit, the importance of the right people in the right places, constraints in business and maintaining the passion for your business.

Earn respect from the job you do, not the job you have.
    -Mark Scarce

It's always great to be able to step outside the day to day of your own business and get a fresh perspective and perhaps some new ideas on how to improve things even further. Great also to see some new faces this morning; if you haven't already, check out the MPSN website for what this fantastic network has to offer you.

Time and money are a finite resource so we must get better at investing in them both in the right place.
    -Grant Herbert

We are definitely looking forward to the next MPSN breakfast, as well as the next opportunity for Solutions Outsourced to host another great panel discussion. Thanks once again to the MPSN as well as the People Builder himself, Grant Herbert, and of course our very own Mark Kofahl for hosting the impressive event.
