 Hey there Joey,
With the weather getting close to freezing (with some very cold mornings in the office!) the glow from our monitors has been keeping us warm as we’ve been working hard to finish a number of projects before the end of the financial year. Check our Facebook page for some of what we’ve been up to.
In this email, we discuss the potential social faux pas of emailing old customers (and how to avoid being marked as spam), our involvment in the upcoming Online Retailer exhibition as well as taking a look at a new website we’ve completed recently. In other news, Solutions Outsourced turns ten years old next month! This is pretty exciting for us as we reflect upon how much has happened over the past 10 years. Keep an eye out next month as we review some of the highlights from the past 10 years. A shiny new website for a new suburb Oran Park Town and Landcom came to us seeking a website redesign that was visually engaging, highly interactive and ultimately led users on a memorable journey, with the ideal outcome being land sale enquiries, commercial enquiries and greater presence within the community. See the finished product here. To email, or not to email: that is the question! Wanting to communicate with your customers is no crime, but when is contacting customers inappropriate? When you bump into a friend, you may end up talking for half an hour about how you’re going and what you’ve been doing. On the other hand, when you run into someone you haven’t spoken to for a few years, how do you act? In my experience you may not even stop to say “Hello”. Instead, you smile that little ‘I-recognise-you-and-I-know-you-recognise-me’ smile and perhaps give them a quick nod and go on your way.
So why do we expect it to be different in the online world? Customers with whom you have a good relationship, like friends, are happy to take the time to listen to what you have to say; customers who have become estranged over time may not have that same patience.
It’s a word that sends shivers down the spine of every online marketer – spam. The last thing you want is for your customers to consider your messages as spam, but ...how can you know when your emails, letters or text messages are becoming "spammy"?
Read more about how to avoid being marked as spam. Next month is our 10th Birthday! It’s hard to believe as the time has flown- but next month we turn 10 years old! Stay tuned for our newsletter next month which will be full of goodies as we take a deep breath to blow out all our candles.
