 Hi Joey,
Lots has been happening around the Solutions Outsourced HQ this month. We’ve launched a bunch of websites, printed some great design pieces (read about some below) and welcomed 2 new people into our team. Also, Amy helps us understand a little more about how influential colour can really be and we discuss the upcoming AIS conference that we’re helping out at. Phew! Please note: our team is away on our annual staff conference this Friday and Saturday (20th & 21st) as we discuss how to improve our workflow and better serve our clients. Our offices will be closed on Friday. For any urgent business call 1300 33 1000 and leave a message. Camden Hire catalogue We're very pleased to announce the completion of the 3rd Edition of the Camden Hire Equipment Catalogue.
This issue was a substantial increase to those that we had designed before; this issue was 92 pages (compared with the 32 page issues previously)! This edition includes technical information such as weight, dimensions and necessary power sources for the equipment, not to mention the growth of the amount of equipment that was featured. This catalogue also features measurement tables, formulae, and a tear out application form.
The equipment photography was updated and is showcased in a glossy, magazine style finish. We are very impressed with the distinct look of quality that the finish of the catalogue conveys.
Finally, the colour-coded category pages add freshness and variety to the catalogue, which is particularly important to a catalogue of this scale. See more here. Colouring within the lines You've all probably heard about the power of colour; colour can make something appealing or unappealing. It can alter your mood dramatically from making you calm and peaceful to making you angry and tense. Colour is a very powerful design tool and must be used in a very careful way. When we design a website or publication, we use a strong colour to highlight important information or encourage the user to act in a certain way (to click on a particular link, rather than wandering off to look at pictures of cats in bow ties). However, there is definitely such a thing as too much or inappropriate colour.
When you think about it, there's a fine balance between using not enough colour and using too much. Not using enough can make something plain; a dash of colour has that little extra something. Using too much colour, on the other hand, is too much for our brains to handle.
So… how do we find that balance? Click here to read more! - written by our newest designer, Amy AIS IT conference Next month we'll be exhibiting at the AIS IT conference in the Hunter Valley. The event explores innovative solutions and technologies, in regards to school & education ICT infrastructure. We are featuring at the expo with web system Siteflex in the spotlight for its flexible capabilities in the school realm. Come and say hello if you'll be there.
