Over this past weekend, we have seen what has become Australia's worst bushfire season ever with the Victorian bush fires being the worst natural disaster our nation has seen.

The official toll of this horrific event officially stands at 131, with the number expected to rise to over 200 casualties.

Social media websites including Twitter, Facebook and Flickr have provided raw and real coverage of the tradgedy as it unfolds. Australians on Twitter have posted updates on the event and have helped the relief effort, and as of this morning the hashtag #bushfires becoming the top trending search on Twitter.

A Google-powered map of the Bushfires has also been made available, powered by the Victoria Country Fire Authority RSS feed:

Through our workplace giving program, Solutions Outsourced have donated to the Red Cross Victorian Bushfires 2009 Appeal. Those involved in this horrible tragedy would I'm sure appreciate any kind donation you can give via their secure online donations form.
