CSS3 - starring @font-face
23 February, 2010
Looks like is time to throw out a few things (I wont even mention Internet Explorer 6, which is beyond a joke) - hack techniques that have gotten us through some dark lack-of-web-standards years.
As the web approaches a more standardised land of happiness, CSS3 is becoming more and more a reality.
One piece of good news we've begun using ourselves is the @font-face definition. Sure, theres a bit of an IE7/8 hack... but it works! Infact it works nicely, and barely counts as a hack since it follows your standard CSS rules; more or less.
Check out the Siteflex website to see @font-face in action. We're very pleased with the results. Goodbye old techniques; hello new, improved ones! The image below shows off a bit of before/after action - loving the new font!

ps. As a major bonus font-face is iPhone/iPad friendly too!
